Community based child and family centered health care

This course gives you knowledge of the theoretical framework and practical tools involved in designing relevant and accurate health care intervention for children and their families in a certain demographic area.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide professionals with an insight into how to plan, prioritise and perform health care promotion and preventive health care services on a community based level among children and their families.

Course goals
The goal of the course is to give the participants knowledge in how to identify risk factors and health factors, vulnerable groups among children and their families. Moreover, out of that knowledge independently plan and perform a health care intervention/project.

• Epidemiology concepts and methods
• A public health perspective on living conditions and its effects on health
• Ethical aspects on health and health care
• Health pedagogical theories and methods
• Teaching methods
• Communication, counseling methods and skills. Motivated communication
• Patient centered approach
• Methods to plan and perform a health project (group work activity).
